As Aspen Times reported Thursday, Democrat Jonathan Godes secured the Garfield County District 1 commissioner seat after Republican Eric Rudd conceded the race. Unofficial results from the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office show Godes received 13,112 votes, or 53.05%, while Rudd garnered 11,605 votes, or 46.95%. Godes will succeed longtime Republican Commissioner Tom Jankovsky in January, joining commissioners Mike Samson and Perry Will on the three-member board. Additionally, Aspen Snowmass reported up to 8 inches of snow in 24 hours across four mountains following a storm.
