Summit Daily reported that Colorado state Senator Dylan Roberts has been chosen as the new majority leader of the state senate following a caucus election held Thursday.
Roberts represents Senate District 8, which spans several counties including Garfield, Moffat, and Rio Blanco. Entering his second term as a senator, Roberts told Summit Daily that he is ready to collaborate on an agenda that lowers costs and supports families. The next legislative session is set to begin Jan. 11.
While multiple races remain uncalled by the Associated Press, Democrats have claimed majorities with 24 senate seats and 45 house seats secured in the election.
