The Mesa County Public Health Department conducted routine and complaint-based inspections of several local food establishments, including restaurants, food trucks, and school cafeterias, across the Grand Valley between September 3 and September 16. No establishments have closed since the previous health blotter on September 3, according to Mesa County Public Health Department information.
Among the establishments inspected, The Goat And Clover Tavern, located at 336 Main St., Unit 104, received 10 violations during a routine inspection on September 3. As of September 16, the tavern had not yet received its re-inspection.
Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary School Cafeteria, at 2888 B 1/2 Road, was subject to two inspections. A routine inspection on September 3 found zero violations. However, a complaint-based inspection conducted the following day, on September 4, identified five violations.
Berna B's, situated at 2913 Patterson Road, Unit 101, underwent two inspections on September 8. A re-inspection reported two violations, while a separate routine inspection on the same day noted three violations.
The Bread Mine Baking Company in Fruita, at 211 E. Aspen Ave., received a routine inspection on September 11, which found three violations. A subsequent complaint-based inspection on September 14 at the same location found zero violations.
Solstice Senior Living At Grand Valley, located at 3260 N. 12th St., received a routine inspection on September 15, resulting in four violations. Orchard Mesa Middle School, at 2736 Unaweep Ave., had a routine inspection on September 16, which found two violations.
Other inspections across the county included Tacos y Tortas El Chato, a food truck, which received five violations during a routine inspection on September 3. Pomona Elementary School Cafeteria, at 588 25 1/2 Road, received one violation during a routine inspection on September 3. Mesa View Elementary School Cafeteria, at 2967 B Road, also received one violation during its routine inspection on September 9. Riverside Education Centers Cafeteria, located at 1177 Winters Ave., received one violation during a routine inspection on September 11.
Mesa County Public Health conducts these inspections for all restaurants from Loma to Collbran to ensure public safety and sanitation. The department’s website notes that inspection reports offer "only a snapshot" of an establishment's conditions at a particular time.
